The Vulnerability Assessment is a security analysis aimed at identifying all potential vulnerabilities of systems and applications by assessing the potential damage that a potential "attacker" can inflict on the production unit.
The Vulnerability Assessment consists of scans performed on web applications or corporate networks using professional tools, known as vulnerability scanners, which sift through corporate targets. These scans can include:
- Networking scans, focusing on network devices.
- Host/server scans.
- Specific scans for wireless networks.
- Web application scans.
- Database scans.
